TYPE: Costa Rica. Arbres d 'une haie, San Juan de San Ramon, alt. 1025 m, Jan 1922, Fleurs rouge-verdatres. Tree belle espece, A.M. Brenes 254 (holotype, B, destroyed; lectotype designated by Barringer 1986, drawing of type, AMES; isolectotype, CR).
